Position Summary

Young animation studio is looking an experienced IT Technician to join our team and help in managing the IT operations for our facility. We are a 2D animation shop in Yaletown with a staff that is growing to approx. 100 people. We need someone who can take care of the day to day as well as help us design management systems and cool websites.

Key Responsibilities

The role is an all encompassing role and includes but not limited to duties such as:

• Manage and setup a multiplatform environment with Mac, Windows, and Linux user / server environments.
• Familiarity with peer to peer/client servers, switches, routers, and gateways.
• Ability to assess and build server requirements for production with ongoing maintenance.
• Experience with Web Server and Streaming Server environments.
• Manage File system environment user and security setups.
• Mange FTP servers for large file transfer. Communication with our outside vendors and distribution partners.
• Ability to build and maintain company websites
• Ability to build management system for animation approvals which includes digital asset management and reporting
• Support for all stations and software including ToonBoom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Adobe, Microsoft Office FileMaker, and other products.
• Maintaining Studio equipment: arranging repairs, obtaining quotes and invoices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of IT experience preferably in a production facility and preferably in animation
• Strong animation and life drawing skills conveying emotions
• Degree or diploma CS field is a must
• Strong work ethic
• Familiarity with Adobe and ToonBoom's software is a plus
• Familiarity with Animation workflow from Pre to Post production is a plus
• Some experience with Final Cut Studio Pro 6/7
