Position Summary

Big Bad Boo is seeking an experienced Animation Supervisor with 5+ years of experience to supervise the animation team for the TV series “1001 Nights”.

The Animation Supervisor will be responsible for approving scenes based on the creative vision of the show’s creators, producers and the supervising director. In this role the supervisor is responsible for mentoring animators as well as animating original seconds.

We are a young company looking for an energetic team player who can positively contribute to creating the best properties in a fun studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading a team of 20+ animators in a fully digital pipeline of Toonboom Harmony
• Handing out scenes to be animated
• Ensuring that scenes are congruent to the project and its designs
• Approving scenes in a timely manner to allow animators to be paid or receive revisions in time so that they may resubmit
• Providing guidance to animators on animation, staging, pacing and acting

Requirements

• MUST have 5+ years of experience and come with a full portfolio of sample work in the field of children’s TV animation
• Degree or diploma in art or animation or equivalent
• Must be able to animate in Toonboom Harmony
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must have a strong ability to interpret scenes, understand emotions and acting and help junior animators realize that in their work
• Ability to work effectively under strict deadline
• Ability to work with people from different disciplines and cultures with varying degrees of technical knowledge
• Must be able to coach, mentor, motivate, and lead younger animators
• Strong work ethic
• Multi-tasker and self-starter who thrives in small, team-oriented environment
• Experience with Mac computers is a plus
• Familiarity with MS office and Adobe drawing products is a plus
• Experience with Photoshop/Flash/Final Cut Pro is a plus
